Registering for the Pre-lectures

The Pre-lectures are a required component of this class. To access them, you must purchase an access card and register yourself in the system. You may purchase an access card in the following ways:

• Purchase one in person from the CU Bookstore in the University Memorial Center for $13.50 plus tax. Note that the cards are kept at the Cashier's Desk, not with the other textbooks. (In case they run out by the end of the week, the bookstore should get more cards in stock by Monday.)

• Purchase one from the smartPhysics website for $25+tax

Once you have a registration code, you can follow these instructions to register yourself in the smartPhysics system and add yourself to the course. To "Join" our course, the course access key is course1827. Note that you must enter your correct 9-digit student ID number in order to receive credit for completing the assignments.

Pre-lecutures are due before 9 AM on the due date. You will only receive credit for pre-lectures that are 100% complete before the due date. The current pre-lecture schedule might change over the course of the semester. For the latest schedule, log into the smartPhysics website, and click on the icon near the top left. To view your scores, click on the near the top left. Note that we are only using the prelectures, and not the CheckPoints or Homework assignments from the smartPhysics site.

To receive credit, you must complete the prelectures before the deadline. But you can always go back and review them again at any time, for example to study for the exams or before starting the homework.
