When I try to logon, the machine says either my CAPA ID or my student ID is not valid:
Remember to choose phys2020 now (not e.g. phys2010) in the pull-down menu on the logon page.
If you are registered with CAPA (e.g. if you have ever received a personalized CAPA assignment for this course, this semester) but lost your homework printout or PIN for this week, you can get it online with the Pin-Getter. (Your PIN number will be emailed to you immediately, so be sure to include a valid return email address!)
(Pin-getter can always be found at the bottom of the normal CAPA logon page)If you think you're not registered for CAPA, try the "Pin Getter" described above first! If that fails , send email to Steven.Pollock@colorado.edu giving me your name and student ID, and a brief statement of what you want.
I can't find my CAPA assignment in the CAPA dispensory in the basement.
Remember: there are now multiple courses using CAPA. Be sure you are looking in the right place!
Check the slots above and below your slot. Sometimes students inadvertantly put the assignments back in the wrong slot.
If you are registered with CAPA (i.e. if you have ever received a personalized CAPA assignment for this course, this semester) you can get your PIN number online with "Pin Getter" , by following the links at the bottom of the CAPA login page. (It will be emailed to you immediately, so be sure to include a valid return email address!) You can then login to the CAPA page, and look at your assigment there. You won't have an original hardcopy of the HW this way, but you can always print it out from your browser if you want.
If you really want an original hardcopy CAPA assignment, and you have no means of printing it off the web as described above, send email to Steven.Pollock@colorado.edu. Give me your name, email, and your student ID. It may take awhile!
Part of my CAPA assignment appears on my computer screen, but part is cut off with the message "Transfer interrupted".
This happens when you hit any key or click with the mouse while the page is downloading. Sometimes, when internet traffic is high, it may take many seconds or even a minute to download the whole page. Downloading is not complete until you see the message "Document: Done" at the bottom of the screen. If you touch anything on your keyboard, your PC interrupts the transfer to service the keyboard command. Moral: be patient, don't click anything till you see "Document: Done".
