Problems (Each problem is worth 10 points - total 70pts)
1. Boas 3.4.14
2. Show that 4i-2j+8k and 5i+2j-2k are orthogonal (perpendicular). Find a third vector perpendicular to both. Is the vector you found unique? Explain.
In the next 2 problems, use vectors to prove the theorems. Do not decompose
vectors into components (Cartesian or polar) You shouldn't even need to
define any angles in either of the problems.
3. Boas 3.4.4
4. Boas 3.4.25
5. Boas 6.3.8
6. Boas 6.3.10
7. Boas 6.3.12 (Hint: Expand each triple product as done in Boas eqns 6.3.8 and 6.3.9)
