Physics 3310, Electromagnetism
Instructor: Steven Pollock
This week (Jan 21-25):
We are in Chapter 2, studying electrostatics: using Coulomb's and Gauss' law to deduce the Electric fields produced by static charge distributions.
Special notes:
- Next Preflight is Preflight #2, due Friday 1/25. (Password will always be 3310, all term. Preflights are full credit for participation, please do the associated reading from the calendar first, though, it'll help!
- Next homework is HW3, due Wed 1/30
- Society of Physics students has pizza and socializing on the 11th floor of the tower Wed at 5 PM all this term. Check it out!
- Office hours are normally Monday and Tuesday, 4-5:30 (ish). This week, due to MLK day, no hours on Monday.
- See the "Virtual office hours" link, I've already responded to one question about HW #2 there.
- Reading: From here out, see the calendar, reading and assignments link (always available on the upper left) for reading assignments.
We're covering 2.2 this week. (And 1.5, Delta functions)
- Written Homework: You can always find it at the usual calendar link.
- We have a D2L (learn.colorado.edu) site - I post solutions there. There's also a discussion forum, so you can help each other online on homeworks and preflights. The solutions to the first preflight and HW 1 are posted there already.
