Phys 4460/5460: Final Project Overview

Purpose: to explore in depth a topic of your choosing, relating to teaching and learning in physics. The projects should be challenging, fun, and allow you to explore an area of your interest.

Final Presentations: Dec 8 & Dec 10 and if necessary Dec 15.
You will signup in advance, durin ghte week of 12/2.

Plan on a 7 minute presentation to your peers, introducing your project and findings. More on this will be discussed in class. Either the last week of class, or the Tues of Finals week. Your project ideally should be completed in advance of your presentation and shared with the class (unless you prefer to keep it private).

These should be ~7 min with an additional couple minutes of question from the audience. (if there are two of you presenting you can have 2x time if you wish).

They are designed to:
- introduce your project overall, motivate why you've asked the question
- share some of the sample results / findings / products (but not everything)
- inspire us all to follow-up and read your final project / presentation etc..

DO NOT COVER EVERYTHING FROM YOUR PROJECT, NOR READ DIRECTLY FROM YOUR FINAL WRITE-UP (or keep that to a mimum).

The format is whatever works best for you.. whether a presentation via PPT or a video or simply you talking (some of the best presentations have been with people sharing their ideas and results without the tyranny of powerpoint). Let me know if you'd like to use my computer to present and bring your files on a flash drive.
