Written Homework is assigned on Friday, due the following Friday at the start of class.
Weekend Preflights (online homework) are generally assigned Friday, due the following MONDAY MORNING (at noon)
Readings should be completed before the lecture, this makes a big difference!

1. Kets, normalization and orthogonality. "Postulate 4" (McIntyre pp. 14-22)

2. Matrix notation for spin 1/2(pp. 22-25), and "generalizing" to higher spin.

3. Operators, eigenstates, postulates 2 and 3, finding the Sz matrix, diagonalizing (pp. 34-41)

FYI - you can "skim" Ch 8.2 .1 and much of 8.2.2, but please do read the "bullets" at the end, we'll talk about that!

Wrap up Ch 7 (Spherical Harmonics), Ch 8 (read 8.1- 2 for Wed, 8.3-5 for Friday, and that covers us for next week as well.
