This week: The hydrogen atom (and, some review/summary)
The wavefunctions of the hydrogen atom are the foundation upon which atomic, molecular, and chemical physics are built. The image above shows the radial and angular dependence for n=30, l=20, m=10. There are many helpful tools available for visualizing hydrogen orbitals. Have a look here.
Announcements:
- No more homeworks. (See D2L for solutions)
- Final exam information is available in the usual places: exam info and detailed course goals page
- Some students have been emailing me with last minute study questions. I'm posting our exchanges on piazza.
- You are allowed "one side of crib sheet per exam" (so, 3 sides for the final). Plus my provided purple sheet.
- The final is in our regular classroom (Duane, G125), NOT where the midterms were. Thursday Dec 15, 1:30-4 PM
