Week 10 (Oct 27-Oct 31): We are still in Griffith Ch 9 - studying reflection, refraction, and transmission from dielectrics and conductors..

This week we continue our study of EM waves propagating in matter. Investigating how waves interact with materials will lead us to an understanding of how EM waves interact with conductors (think, mirrors!) and how the index of refraction depends on the frequency of the EM wave, known as dispersion. In the frequency range of visible light, this leads to the splitting of colors shown in the prism.
