We begin our study of special relativity this week with the concepts of "events", Lorentz-transformations, four-vectors and relativistic covariance.

  • FCQ's for this class are online! Please fill one out, the department values these (and so do I!) Deadline is the start of the last week of classes.
    You will get an email - if you do NOT get a request, check your spam folder (email comes from FCQ.Office@colorado.edu) If you can't find it, please go to https://fcq.colorado.edu/ucb_fcq.htm and follow the directions there to submit your online FCQ.
  • Reading: 12.1.4 and 12.2.1-3 for this week. (12.1.1-3 is 2170 review. See also the old "relativity review" powerpoints! I won't be repeating all this stuff in class, it's "assumed background". I think it is very helpful!! )
  • Next preflight, #13 on Relativity notes is due Monday @10 right after we return)
  • HW12 will be due Wed Dec 3, right after the break.
